At CQM, we believe it is our responsibility to give back to society. That’s why we’ve joined the Pledge 1% movement - dedicating a portion of our time, expertise, and resources to social causes and community initiatives.
Over the past year, we’ve supported several impactful projects, primarily by investing our time in initiatives that energise us—and where our analytical expertise can truly make a difference:
-
Inspiration session data-driven work
We organised an interactive session to help organisations work smarter with data. By sharing concrete case examples, we inspired participants to optimise the value of their data.
-
Analytics for a better world
Our consultants contributed to this initiative that brings together non-profits, academia, and businesses to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Two of our consultants conducted multiple coaching sessions with young entrepreneurs from Afghanistan and Uganda, helping them grow in their work with data analytics.
-
The Boekenboeker
We continued developing this tool that recommends books to young readers based on their preferences and reading history. A smart algorithm helps making reading more accessible to all. It all began with a hackathon in 2020.
-
Luisterend Schrijver (listening writer)

Sometimes, listening is just as vital as doing calculations. Our colleagues volunteered as “listening writers” for the foundation (Gelijk)waardig Herstel, capturing the stories and experiences of parents affected by the childcare benefits scandal—ensuring their voices are heard and fairly recognised.
-
Distribution optimisation for the food bank
With our expertise in logistics and modelling, we supported the 'Groente en Fruit Brigade' of Voedselbanken Nederland in distributing surplus apples that would otherwise remain with growers. This enabled a fairer and more efficient allocation to households in need.
-
Community garden work
Not all impact comes from algorithms. During a team day, we rolled up our sleeves and renovated a local community centre garden. Sometimes, making a difference really is that straightforward.

Looking ahead to 2025
We still have availability in 2025 and are always open for new community-driven projects. Do you know an organisation that could benefit from our support? Let us know - together, we can maximise impact.
